Losing of history
'Natural features such as hills or harbours, as well as streets or buildings, and patterns of settlements, frames the life of many people and often outlast many lifetimes' - Dolores Hayden
After moving to London I felt an absence of my spatial memories which linked me to my living space back in Iran. Clearly all the urban landscapes here were storehouses full of social memories, yet none of them were even close to being mine. My memories, instead, had been abandoned somewhere in the past within indexes on photographs and written words.
