Polaroid Project

Polaroid Project

2011

A Camera is essentially a source of suspicion and when it comes to a country like Iran, it confronts a very reserved culture on public exposition. Arguably this culture, along with the social consequences of State policy, highly affects social interactions thus causing distant and insincere relations.

Within this project, in order to avoid public resistance, I pretended to be an itinerant photographer reviving the tradition of Polaroid photography in parks. Whilst doing that, I soon noticed that we had become unaware of each other... Seeing people in the street as untrustworthy strangers and inanimate components of the city.
